More About Last Week

Another thing that we did last weekend was this:

We took the seats out of Matt's car (the lead singer of Eleventyseven) while he was out doing a show.

Last Week

Last week I spent the entire week catching up and getting ready for our company and party this last weekend. I spent most of my time cleaning, unpacking, running errands, and laundry (10 loads of it). That's not too exciting.

We did celebrate a birthday. We had a birthday party for Lucas last Wednesday. We went to an awesome Japanese place in downtown Nashville. Then, we went to a coffee shop in the cool area of Nashville. After coffee, we walked to a park. It was cool.

Soap Suds and Braided Bungees

That sums up our party yesterday. We had another party with a purpose. The purpose was for my friend who is going on a mission trip to Canada. She thought that we were going to purchase some books for them to give out while they are there. However, we called her and informed her that we were going to pay off the trip for her. She was so grateful. She said that she and her husband knew that she should go on this trip over a year ago. They knew that the Lord would provide the money to go. He did just that by using our group.

We had so much fun, too! We had a slip and slide using a bunch of plastic and soap. It was huge and our backyard is on a hill. We had hay bales and a kiddie pool to stop everyone. It didn't always work, but it was a blast! We also added more bungee cords to our brake on the zipline. We braided three bungees together. We played so hard that later that evening, everyone was beat! I felt like a little kid who had been at the pool all day and had played my heart out.

We made so much food. Brock cooked a pork loin and a couple of chickens in his cajun microwave. Shannon (our former road manager) and Therron (one of the Superwow staffers) came in for the weekend. Brock grilled burgers for them on Saturday. I went a little overboard on the desserts. I made a peach cobbler, strawberry cake, and a chocolate cherry cake brownie suggested by Lucas for his birthday. They were all a big hit...especially the cherry one!

Please Pray for Lucy

There is a lady named Lucy Thomas. I really admire her and her husband, JV. They love the Lord and love each other. Also, Lucy reads this blog faithfully everyday. This week, she was taken to the hospital to have emergency surgery because there was a mass on her brain. Please pray that Lucy will be okay. If you want more information, her daughter has begun a blog for her http://lucythomas.blogspot.com.

Day 2 in Hahira, GA

We had a good time yesterday. We went running yesterday morning and worked online some. Then, we grabbed some lunch and went with Teresa (some of you may have seen some of her comments) to a peach orchard. There, we bought some peaches, blueberries, and boiled peanuts. We also had some peach ice cream. It was yummy!

The show last night went well. Everyone seemed to have a good time at camp.

Now, we are going HOME. I'm so excited to be going home. I cannot remember being this tired in my whole life. Every chance that I get, I'm sleeping. Brock keeps falling asleep in the middle of the day in random chairs. One time, he was at a Brookstone store at the airport sitting in one of those massage chairs. I left him for 5 minutes, and the store clerk had to wake him up. He was gone...just sleeping right there in the store!

Show in Hahira, GA

The show last night was great! It was really fun. The church here was having a camp at their church. They have a brand new gym facility. The students are sleeping there and showering there. It looks like they are having a ball.

At night, they have a service in their sanctuary. Last night and tonight, we are doing the majority of the service. Also, they have invited people from the community to attend. The place was packed out last night. I hope that it packs out tonight!

4 States in One Day

We spent the entire day flying on Monday. We went to the airport in Fargo, ND (it's the closest one to Detroit Lakes, MN) that morning only to find out that we'd missed our flight. The time was wrong in my advancing stuff. So, we went back to the hotel to chill a while until the next plane left. Then, we grabbed some early lunch and got onto an early afternoon flight.

Then, we had a layover in Minneapolis, MN. There, we went to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Shop. The first thing we did was to look for the chocolate toffee covered apple. We didn't see any in the case. Several girls were working there, so Brock went to ask if they were going to make any. Then, our friend poked her head up from behind the counter. She had saved three of them for us!

After that, we flew to Memphis, TN, and then, finally onto Fort Walton Beach, FL. I was so ready to be done with traveling. I didn't even want to take a cab back to our hotel and truck, but I knew that I had no choice.

Pray for us today. We drive to Georgia to do a show there tonight and tomorrow night.

Outdoor Show in Detroit Lakes, MN

We pulled it off in MN! We did an outdoor show with no cameras or lights. This is a very tall order. Magic is not supposed to be done outside with wind and such. Plus, people were surrounding the stage. Some people were leaning up against the backside of the stage.

However, we did it! We simply did very visual stuff that mostly entailed escapes and stunts. Those sort of things usually work very well outdoors. It was still tough, though. People's attention spans are even shorter outside. The audience in MN was great, though! I'm so pleased that we were able to do it.

The weather was actually very pleasant in MN. I didn't know what to expect. It got down into the 50's at night. During the day, it felt like spring weather, so it was perfect for a festival. It stayed light until 10pm. I wasn't expecting that!

Warren Barfield's Packing Skills

Warren Barfield was playing at the festival in Minnesota that we were at yesterday. He and his guitar player needed a ride back to the airport. Warren worked to get all of the gear into the trunk...

The Chocolate Shop Lady

We are in Fargo, ND because we have a show in Detroit Lakes, MN tonight which is only an hour away (I know that's confusing). We had to take a 3 legged flight yesterday, because that was the only way to get from Fort Walton Beach, FL to Fargo, ND. Also, one of our flights was delayed for two hours, so it made for a long day.

While we were in the Minneapolis airport in one of our layovers, we went to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate shop. They have dipped apples there that we love. Brock was teasing the lady that worked there that she was going to heaven because she made such delicious dipped apples. He carried on with her for a while, and she teased back. He even said, "She'll be sitting up there with Jesus."

At first, I thought that wasn't wise of Brock to say that you could go to heaven any other way than through Jesus even though he was obviously teasing. Then, I thought that even now, I bet that lady is thinking about how you get to heaven. I told Brock that it was good that he mentioned how to get to heaven because she's thinking about it at this point. He said that this was his intention the entire time. He's a very smart man. He got a stranger to think about her eternity without being confrontational or sounding self righteous. I'm still praying for the lady in the chocolate shop in Minneapolis.

Last Week at Superwow

Today is our last day at Superwow. It's been awesome!!! Every week has been just a little different. Each group has a different personality. It's been amazing, and I've loved every minute of it.

Last night we did another chocolate tasting with the adults to raise money for Haiti. We video chatted with Will from Audio Adrenaline. They have an orphanage down there. We raised money for the same thing that we did last time...orphanage prevention. Basically, you can buy children in Haiti for really cheap right now. The reason is that the mothers would rather sell or give their babies away than to see them starve to death. Hands and Feet (Mark and Will's from Audio A's organization) has an orphanage prevention where they provide 20 mothers with enough baby food to feed them. This costs $25 a week per baby. If you add that up, it's $2,000 a month. That's rather stout for them to provide on their own. They basically said that whatever we raise can be used to save a baby from starving tomorrow. My heart justs breaks for that country.

Well, we are going to feed those babies for a month, because last night, we raised $2,000!!! If you are interested in giving to this huge need, contact Hands and Feet (handsandfeetproject.org).

A Powerful Time of Healing

Yesterday morning, Brock interviewed Steph again during the service. After that, he had a time of ministry where people could release some of the bitterness and unforgiveness that they may have been harboring. The Holy Spirit came through that place. You could feel His presence in the room. It was so heavy that Brock had trouble standing sometimes. Steph envisioned the Holy Spirit coming through the room like a huge wave washing everything clean.

At one point, Brock stated that he knew that the official schedule said that we needed to go to our seminars at that time, but he was sensing that the Lord wanted us to be patient. If we were late to our seminars, so be it, because this is what we pray for...a move of God.

It was a good thing that we were patient, too, because I saw a young boy go to a guy and break down right after Brock said that. I know that there were others that were holding on...just trying to handle it all themselves. What a powerful time of healing!

Repentance

That's not a word you here much lately, but it's what Brock challenged us to do today...REPENT. After he was done speaking, I continued to stay backstage and pray for conviction over the crowd. Matt Papa (the worship leader) began to lead us in worship. As I was praying, something happened. I cannot explain it well enough simply because I don't know what happened.

First of all, I broke. I began to weep and repent for my sins. At that point, I forgot about the audience. I forgot where I was entirely. It was as if the Lord was saying, "Let's deal with YOUR sin first." At one point, I felt physically sick. I think that I was overcome with grief over my sins. I remember thinking the other day that I don't repent enough. Well, it was as if I caught up today.

This repentance was different though. I prayed for it, and the Lord gave it to me. I experienced tremendous grief and even more relief. Then, I began to repent for others. This was a new and wonderful, emotional experience for me. I know that this sounds funny, but try praying that you will truly be convicted. It's a very freeing time with your Savior.

Brock's Quickness

I was about to write a blog about how quickly Brock thinks onstage. Well, I thought that you might want to hear it from him:

i dont know what the problem is this week but we have had some problems. the good news is that the audience had no idea but, we have had some technical problems. i have had to be quick on my feet this week. when things go wrong i kinda like it sometimes because it is a challenge for me. i try to problem solve and get thru it before a disaster happens. some things are unavoidable and somethings were just plain stupidity on our part but it has been weird. when i do a show there are hundreds of details that have to be right or else things fall apart. the good thing is that i have a quickness about me that allows me to play with the crowd orchange the routine and make it entertaining. sometimes a big mess up turns into the best thing that could ever happen. the solution becomes better than the original. tonight that happened. i was messing up something and trying to figure out what went wrong and it turned into a really funny bit. i am going to keep it in the show now. from now on i will do it this way to get the same funny result. i love when this happens. anyway, the past 3 shows i have had to be quick. i have worked my brain overtime. i am not sure why but i am not complaining. it keeps it fun.

Back to the Beach

Well, now we are back in Fort Walton Beach. Yesterday, we had an early flight to Pensacola, FL. Our friends, Steph, Lindsey, and Jacob had driven our truck from Nashville to Pensacola. They blew the air horn and stuck their heads out the window when they picked us up at the airport. I already had my bathing suit on and Brock's shirt was off. We were ready to go to the beach! Pensacola is our favorite beach in the U.S.A.

We drove to the beach, got all of our towels and stuff out, and headed for the water. On our way there, the occupants of the beach were making a mass exit. It was like we were walking the wrong way. Everyone was emptying the beach except us. The reason was obvious. A huge, dark cloud had rolled up. Before we actually went onto the sand, we stood up on the sidewalk and watched the storm come in. That was actually very exciting!

When it began to rain, we ran across the street to a shopping center. Then, we ate the best key lime pie in the world at a place called Flounders. It had cleared up some by then, so we went back out to the beach. I guess that our early morning caught up with us, because Brock and I slept for about two hours on the beach. After that, we ate dinner at a restaurant on the water and headed to Fort Walton to begin another week of Superwow.

Happy 4th of July!!!

What are you guys doing for the 4th? Maybe I can live vicariously through you. We are in CO which is a cool place, but we're working today. So, I don't even know if fireworks are in the picture for us today. However, we celebrated at our party on Sunday. That was a blast!

Today and tomorrow, we are performing at a big festival here in Olathe, CO. We flew into Grand Junction, CO. I don't really know where that is, but I do know that the mountains are cool looking and it's HOT (like desert hot) and dry. We are on I-70 which is the prettiest drive in the USA. Brock says that everyone should drive I-70 from Denver to Las Vegas once in their lives.

Pray for us to be able to have strength to finish up these next two weeks. In June, we did 30 shows in 30 days. Also, we hosted 3 Parties with a Purpose. Over the next two weeks, we will perform 14 times in 4 different states and host one party. If we can make it until July 18th, we get two weeks off. I'm going to need it! The summer is fun but very taxing.

Barbara's Gone

We had to take Barbara to the airport yesterday, and I already miss her. I just love that girl!!!

We are doing a show today in Nashville. Pray that it goes well.
