Show in Lincoln, NE

We were really encouraged by the show last night. First of all, the youth pastor told us that they had been praying so much for us and their community. He said that the students meet every Monday night and simply pray for an hour. They have been doing this for two years and they know that the Lord is going to do something big in their community. He told me that they had been praying for us personally. I almost began to cry. Here I was feeling awful, and this guy cared. They noticed that I was coughing and having a rough time, so one of the interns prayed over me right then and there.

Yesterday, we drove 30 minutes to perform at a small school in a small town outside of Lincoln. There were less than 300 people in 7th through 12th grades. I wondered how many of them would come to the show from that far away. The church sent over one bus to pick up whomever wanted to come. When they got there, they quickly sent over an additional bus because there were so many people waiting to get on the bus. We had over 100 people come from that school (over 1/3rd of the campus). With the addition of their own students who had invited people from their schools like crazy, the place was packed out. I couldn't believe how many unchurched people were in this church! That's very rare.

When it came time for the message, some other program at the church let out and people were coming and going out of the back door. After a few minutes of distractions, I finally told them to hold the door for 5 minutes. Because of all of the distractions and prayer that had been going on, I knew that the invitation was going to be big. We had about 500 people there last night...182 of them gave their lives to Christ. Wow! What a night! Also, I began feeling better during the show. Then, last night, I slept easily through the night. It was the first time in a week that I didn't wake up coughing all night. The power of prayer is incredible!

Brock wrote something on his blog today that is sad but true. It's scary the state that some churches are in today.

Hope you're even better today than yesterday!

Brock's post from yesterday really touched my heart. Seems the issue of "dead churches" is a common thread in lots of places. Then I thought about the Apostle Paul and how he went to churches telling them the same thing. My prayer is to not be found as "Lacodecia." I want to be found (in my christian walk) "hot" and not lukewarm.

Have a happy and healthy day!

It was awesome to have you guys in Lincoln! We were totally blessed by your ministry and are excited to see what God will do as we follow up with those students and adults. So glad to hear you are feeling better! Prayer is awesome! And we will continue to pray for you as you minister around the country.
