Truck Sold

PhotobucketWe sold our truck Friday. Here's a journal entry that I wrote when we were about to sell it the first time:

I'm sitting in our rig for the last time. We are selling it today. I'm excited that we are getting rid of the burden of taking care of it, but I'm sad, too...such mixed emotions. I remember the first day that I sat in it thinking, "This is home," and it was. For the first 2 years, it was the only home we had. We didn't have a house at all. After a show, we'd go sit in the truck, pull out the atlas, and decide where we were going to go next!

We toured the country in this truck. We went to 44 states and Canada in it. I see a faint stain on the floor from where I spilled a whole pot of spaghetti sauce. There's a slight tear in the curtain from where one of our friend's child was playing on it. Our pictures still line the walls above the sink.

It's like saying goodbye to a house you lived in for a while. The only other "house" that I've lived in for a longer amount of time than this truck is the one I grew up in.

Of course it's not really the truck that I'm going to miss. It's all of the memories that the truck holds. My mind holds those memories as well. As long as I keep good records with photos, I can be reminded of the good ole times in this truck whenever I feel the need! That makes me feel better.

Tales from the Block Party

The block party was so awesome today! Brock and Lindsey were a hit! We met some interesting people. People prayed for others.

The one person that I keep thinking about and will continue to pray for is Pedro. Pedro came up to Brock and they were "talking" through motions. I soon picked up on the fact that he is deaf. Somebody that knows sign language tried to come over and interpret only to find out that Pedro doesn't know how to sign. He cannot hear, talk, sign, read, or write. He's 16 years old and has never been to school. We found a local person that had connections. She was going to take Pedro home and talk with his family about getting him some help. Please pray for Pedro.

The other cool part about the block party was that many of the students from Superwow were there helping to put on the party. They were able to serve alongside of Brock. After I told Brock that, he said that on Tuesday when he felt the Lord telling him to do the missions project with the students, that's what he envisioned happening...him serving with students. What a dirty, hot, tiresome, perfect day!

Block Party in Brunswick, GA

I really would love you to pray for the missions that the students are doing here in Brunswick, GA. Tomorrow afternoon, Brock and Lindsey will perform at a block party in Brunswick in coordination with the missions of this camp. Here's the story with that. A year ago, Brock felt like the Lord was leading him to do block parties. Our whole community is full of side show acts. We've got everything we need to do it.

Yesterday, Brock heard the Holy Spirit whisper to him that he needed to get involved with the missions of Superwow this week even though he didn't know exactly what they were doing. Last night, a staff member came up to Brock and asked if he could help with the missions this week. Brock said, "I'll do it" before she even finished explaining it. Then, we found out that it's a block party. The neighborhood where the party is going to take place is full of prostitution and drugs. I feel so drawn to these people! I'm so excited!!!

What a Follower of Jesus Looks Like

I've been really convicted this week about looking after the least of these. Brock spoke about what a follower of Jesus really looks like. If you were to ask someone in this country how you know someone is a Christian, they would probably say because they go to church. To be a Christian means to be like Christ. Is that how you would describe Christ or his followers?

The scripture that I posted yesterday was when Jesus was talking about separating the sheep from the goats (basically Christians from nonchristians). How did he tell whom the Christ followers were...the ones who took care of the least of these. There was no mention of where they went to church. It's not saying that you must do these things to become a Christian. This is simply showing the evidence of a Christian. This is what a Christian would look like.

I don't necessarily think that we should help every single homeless person that we pass, but we should help the ones whom the Holy Spirit prick our hearts to help or include that person that feels left out. Sometimes I'm so busy doing my own thing that I don't even notice a person in need much less hear the whispers of the Holy Spirit. I know a couple of people that do this very often. They notice people in need. They are all about people. I am very encouraged and inspired by Brock and Lindsey Little. I want to be more like Jesus.

Matthew 25:34-40

"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'

"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." Matthew 25:34-40

Update on My Stomach

First of all, thank you so much for praying. For the first time in over 5 weeks, my stomach did not bother me at all yesterday. I want to continue to pray that it is indeed over.

Even though it was awful experiencing pain and such for a while, the Lord taught me a lot through it. I feel like I'm changing. For a while now I've been feeling like the Lord is trying to teach me to be more about people than tasks. I am a task oriented person. Brock is people, people, people. We are a good team, because since I am a task and a time person, Brock can be more free to be a people person. However, recently, I have been convicted that I need to be more about people than I am.

Since I've had this stomach problem, I began to lighten up quite a bit. I was beginning to be too anal about certain things. Along with that, I've been trying to get my priorities in order meaning people always come first. Yesterday, Lindsey and I were on the beach and Brock was back at the house taking a nap. Lindsey and I were having such a good conversation about the Lord and life that I totally lost track of time (I NEVER do that especially on a show day). Before we knew it, we'd been out there for 3 hours. We even missed a rehearsal that we were going to have before the service. We just sped up the rehearsal and everything went fine (It wasn't the end of the world that we were a little late). Maybe I am changing through all of this.

Stomach Problems

Please pray for me. I've had problems with my stomach for 5 weeks now. What I mean by problems with my stomach is that everyday I have some very sharp pains in my stomach and chest area. We think that it's due to an ulcer. I've had problems with it before, and the slightest bit of stress triggers it. When I'm hit with the pain, I feel so badly that I don't feel like doing anything. Please pray that this goes away FOREVER.

Superwow Week One

To be honest, this is always one of the hardest weeks of our year. The first week of Superwow Brock performs new illusions and gives new messages. It's very tiring. It's been really good this week, though. We have Lindsey and Shannon with us. They are wonderful!

The staff here is great as usual. We are having them all over to our house tonight to eat dinner. Brock will cook for everyone. We are staying at a little house here on Jekyll Island, GA for 3 weeks. It's going to be good!

Jack Jones

My sister, Kay, and her husband, Trent, as well as my six month old nephew, Jack, came to Texas from Bolivia for a visit. It was great to spend some time with them. I titled this blog Jack Jones because it's all about Jack. Kay and Trent are great, but that little Jack is amazing. Meet Jack:

The Show in Splendora, TX

The show went well. The cool thing was that we had some friends come that we hadn't seen in a while. As they were introducing us to their 3 children before the show, I had a feeling that their oldest might give his life to the Lord that night. I don't know if that was from the Lord or what, but I did pray for him. He did surrender his life to the Lord last night! It was awesome!!! Our friends thought it was so special that he did that at our show. It was special for us, too.

The Cruise---Days at Port

Coco Cay was the first place we docked. It's a private island owned by the cruiseline. The cool thing about Coco Cay was that we have a friend, Dan Meyer, (he's a sword swallower) who lived on this island before it was inhabited for 5 years. The owner of the island wanted him to sorta babysit it. He caught his water from the rain and fished every day with a spear. It was so weird thinking of him living on that island all by himself.

Hawaii---Kauai Terrain

Kauai has everything. It's got mountains and beaches. One side of the island is a desert while the center is a rain forest. It truly is beautiful! Here are some pictures from the island...

PhotobucketCactus on the desert side

Kauai is known as the garden Isle and I know why. There were flowers everywhere! When I woke up the first morning there, I expected to smell the beach sense we were staying on the beach, but it smelled like flowers.Photobucket

Photobucket90% of all of the plants and animals on Kauai are not found anywhere else in the world.
