No Clumsy Rule

Friday night, some people were out on the back porch sitting around the fire. I went into our bedroom to grab something. I didn't want to turn on the light because it would cast out onto the porch ruining the glow of the fire. As I was headed out the door, I heard something slam and felt pain shoot down in my toes.

I turned on the light (not caring one iota anymore about protecting the glow of the fire) to examine my foot. It looked as if my right pinkie toe was turned slightly inward. I thought, "I have really done it this time! I broke it!" First of all, I have never broken a bone, so I did not know what it felt like. I tried to move it. I could, but it hurt. Then, Brock said that the thing about if you can move it, it's not broken is a myth.

So, here I was trying to get everything ready for Easter Saturday and my foot was swollen and tender. I took lots of breaks and iced it. Sunday, it felt a lot better but after being on it all day while entertaining guests, it was throbbing by the end of the day.

It's getting better and better everyday. We actually don't think it's broken but maybe sprained or something. After pulling my eyelashes out last week and now this, Brock said that he is going to make a "No clumsy rule." That's like saying to stop breathing for me. Much easier said than done, Mr. Gill.

Interesting rule coming from the man who has broken 20 something bones in his life! I'm just saying.

lol. Not at your clumsiness but because I can relate! At some point in our marriage, my hubby and I realized that for my own safety, we needed to ONLY purchase furniture with rounded edges; sharp corners HURT!! Now, if we could just do something to soften those stinkin' wall corners...
Hope you have a quick and complete recovery!
