Day Three in San Francisco

We began our day in China Town

San Francisco feels like another country anyway, but it really felt like we were in another country in this part.



Crazy things in China Town

We ate the best Chinese food that I've ever had here. It was different than any other Chinese food I've ever had, too.



We took cabs all over the city. The drivers were all from different countries. This guy was hilarious. Out of the blue, he told us that he needed to find a woman. Brock didn't miss a beat. He said, "Eharmony.com is what you need." The cabby said in his thick Indian accent, "Write it down for me."

This is a chocolate shop that we went to when we were here last year and loved it. They let you try so much chocolate! We sampled almost as much chocolate here as we did on the chocolate tour.

This shop has about 350 different kinds of chocolate bars. We bought several to take home with us. We've been sharing it with all of our friends since we got home. It will still last us a while.

That night, we went to Fisherman's Wharf.



We had some great seafood.

It was so cold! It was in the 50's plus a cool breeze coming off of the cold Pacific ocean.

We had been told that there were sea lions at the wharf. So, we were staring out at the water catching a glance at a few before they would dive back under the water. Then, Brock yelled to come around the corner. When we came around, this is what we saw...

Sea lions galore! I'm so glad that Brock went around the corner or we would have totally missed all of them.





Jacob gave this homeless guy his leftover pizza. There were homeless people EVERYWHERE in San Francisco. It really broke my heart.

Day Two in San Francisco

There was a farmers market near our hotel that day

Lots of fruit

and flowers

and fish

Brock helped this lady hang her sign

Brock had a conversation with this guy about local farming and such. (Brock never meets a stranger.)

This girl was the security guard in the clothing store called Forever21. Brock and Jacob actually showed her their i.d.s when they entered the store. She began laughing and said that they didn't have to be 21 to get into the store. I bet she's still talking about that in the break room!

We ate at this great Indian restaurant.



These were young homeless people that Brock gave a little money to.

We went on a walking chocolate tour. On the right is Brenna, our guide. The other girl on the tour is Marylyn who is from Canada.

We tried a single origin chocolate bar here.



We tried some wonderful truffles at this place.



This place had over 200 different kinds of great chocolate bars.



We had some hot chocolate here.



Jacob loved the champagne truffle here so much that he fell to the floor!

Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of Ghirardelli chocolate so I didn't try any of the chocolate bars they gave us here. I was really full by this point anyway.



This place had a collection of truffles and bars from local artisan chocolatiers. They were great!

Day One in San Francisco

Our friend, Erica, who lives in San Francisco, drove us around our first night there.

She took us to a place called Sushi Groove.

It was really good!

Then, she took us to the curviest rode in the country. It was curvier than I thought it would be!

Then, we went to Bi-Rite Creamery where we went 2 more times before we left. See the line out the door? On this particular night it was cold and rainy, yet there were 50 people in line for ice cream. That tells you how good it was!

This is called the Sam's sundae. It has chocolate ice cream, olive oil, sea salt, and homemade whip cream. It sounds weird, but it's so good. My favorite flavor was the honey lavender.

San Francisco and Breathers

Whenever I'm working really hard and I need to take a little breather, I read one of my fiction books. That helps me escape from my life briefly and live in another "person's" life. A little break like that keeps me fresh. I'm hoping that what I share with you here on this blog offers you a little breather from your day if you need one. I seriously think about you that read this blog throughout my day. I think about what I'm going to share with you. I take pictures with you in mind. Thanks for allowing me to share my life with you.

With that in mind, I'm going to share my experience in California over the next few days through pictures. We went to California early to hang out in San Francisco...

Spirit West Coast

We had some great shows last night. First of all, we performed on the main stage. Brock did the glass walk and then he spoke. There were so many people out there, but they got very quiet when Brock gave the gospel. I could tell that the Lord was really moving.

After that, we ran over to another stage where we prepared to do a 45 minute show. Moi went before us. He spoke about forgiveness which was exactly what Brock was going to speak about. I love it when the Lord orchestrates it that way!
