In April of 2006, I felt like the Lord was telling me that I needed to give my Bible away. I was about to go on a trip that month, so I packed an extra one just in case. However, the time never came to give away my Bible.
So much time has passed between then and now. I've had so many people come in and out of my life. At times, I would ask the Lord if this was the time, or if this was the person to give my Bible to. It never was right. I began thinking that maybe I heard the Lord wrong. Maybe I was not supposed to give my Bible away.
Yesterday morning I woke up hearing the Lord. He told me that now was the time to give away my Bible. He wanted me to give my Bible to Barbara. I don't know why He informed me of it so long ago. Maybe He wanted to see if I'd be patient (a trait that I'm not good at). Sometimes, He does things differently than we think that He would. He can do whatever He wants! He's GOD.

I never heard of people "giving their Bibles away". Why do people do that?

I think that God gives us the word so we'll be more prepared when it comes to the giving.
What a blessing to be told so far in advance and wait for the Lord's command. You passed the test, I believe. Wonder what God now has in store for you!
