The Cross: The Arthur Blessitt Story

We saw the most inspiring movie yesterday. It's called "The Cross: the Arthur Blessitt Story." Arthur Blessitt is the guy who carried the cross all over the world. Now, he's gone to every nation in the world. Brock had met the guy before and spoke very highly of him. I was a little skeptical, because my only experience with people carrying crosses were people that also carried megaphones and screamed judgment at people. However, I actually met the guy while we were on the road a few years ago. He was carrying that cross in Colorado. I was super impressed! He has such a sweet disposition and Jesus all over him.

The movie was simply him telling about his life. He's had an amazing life! He's been arrested 24 times (the first time was back in the 60's because he shook a black man's hand). His life has been threatened numerous times. He's prayed with the Pope and Yassaer Arafat. He's been mugged at gunpoint. He's walked through battlefields. It's been a wild ride for him.

He is the most positive man, though. So many times, people told him that he would be killed if he went that way. He would still go, because the Lord told him to. He said that the safest place to be is in the center of the Lord's will. He also said that "I would rather die in the Lord's will than live outside of it." The thing is that he didn't die. There are miraculous things that happened to him.

He's so humble too. He only cares about glorifying Jesus. He said that if he could sum up his life, he is a donkey lifting up the Lord Jesus.

He never looked at obstacles as annoyances but only opportunities. Even to this day, if his car breaks down, he asks the Lord what mechanic he should tell about Jesus. What a wonderful movie. Go see it!
