Lindsey Little's Art Show

Last week, we went to an art show for Lindsey Little. She has such great art. I stopped in front of one picture and looked at it for a while. I got one of those weird deja vu feelings. Then, it donned on me why. A few months ago, when we went to San Francisco, we ate at this amazing Chinese restaurant (the best Chinese food I've ever had). Across the street was a building and I felt like I needed to take a picture of the windows in it. So, I did!

As I was standing in front of almost the same picture, I realized what had happened. I had gone to Lindsey's art show the year before and saw the picture of these windows on this building. It was in my subconscious to snap a picture when I saw the same windows, but I didn't know why. I pulled Lindsey over to the picture and asked her if she took it in San Francisco. She said that yes, she had. It was across the street from the best Chinese food restaurant she'd ever eaten at! Not only did we take the same picture, but in all of San Fran, we'd eaten at the same restaurant! That's crazy!

Here's my picture:
If you go to Lindsey's website and browse through her photography, you can find the same picture.

I'll tell you what else is crazy...that would be Brock. At the party, I saw him slip a cookie into my friend, Amy's, purse, and then Lindsey (the Fire-eater), and then another girl's purse. All of them went home not knowing anything was amiss. A couple of days later, I read Amy's twitter and it said, "cleaning out my purse trying to find a key... and there's a chocolate cookie with little teeth marks in here... How does that happen?" Then, Lindsey's tweeted, "haha... Me too! I have a feeling @brockgill had something to do with that..." It was funny!

Christmas Party with a Purpose

We had our annual Christmas party last Sunday night. It was fun! We had a feast of porkloin, grilled chicken, bean bundles, potatoes, cheese balls and crackers, homemade angel food cake and banana pudding, and more. The food was great and the company was wonderful. We had 17 people over.

After dinner, Lindsey Little shared some amazing stories from her mission work in India. She is such an inspiration. Her life is a mission for the Lord. We raised over $500 toward her next adventure overseas. She is having an art show tonight to tell more stories and raise money for her trip next year. Please pray for her if you think about it. She is literally on the front lines.

Then, we did our traditional white elephant gift exchange. It did not disappoint. Some of the highlights were a plunger, a homemade sugar cookie in the shape of Elvis, and a cassette tape from the 80's including "Jessie's Girl." What a night!

Family Dinner Last Night

Family dinner last night was great! We had one friend, Clay, stop by. He's out on tour with Micheal W. Smith as a guitar tech or something like that. He's always on tour. We call him and Lindsey Little nomads. They both just travel from place to place and come into Nashville every now and then.

Speaking of Lindsey Little, she skyped us from New Zealand. She gave us two presents...flowers (it's summer there) and a kiwi. She had to pretend to give it to us. She also showed us the proper way to eat a kiwi.

After we had finished the gumbo, all prayed together, and Clay had left (of course, he had to go 50 other places because he is only in town a couple of days), Matt from Eleventyseven came by. We played banana grams (that's a very fun game that we play every week). It was great!

Family Dinner

Last night, we had a "family" dinner with some of my closest friends. Stephanie is performing on the Winter Jam tour for a few months. Emily is going with her as her road manager. Lindsey is on the arenacross tour working the merch table. Lindsey Little is on her way to New Zealand to do missions. We are about to be out every weekend as well. Therefore, we aren't able to spend as much time together. So, I decided to do a family dinner every Monday night until the tours are over. Jacob came as well. We skyped Lindsey Little since she's already gone.

Brock grilled some chicken and some venison. It was delicious! Then, I made some garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed green beans and almond slivers. Of course, we had some chocolate for dessert.

It was so wonderful to get together and share about our weekends. We talked about the things God is teaching us and some plans for the future. We also prayed together. We laughed and had a great time together. What a great dinner! I can't wait until next Monday!

Alone Time

Brock went to the arenacross this weekend to race his dirt bike. I stayed home which was really good for me. Brock can be with people 24/7. I can be with people for weeks at a time, but I have my limits. After being with family all week and then doing several shows in a row, a little alone time was perfect.

So, I had my whole weekend planned. I would just veg out for two days. However, (I always do this) by 3pm on Friday, I was missing people. Therefore, I decided to go into town and go to my friend, Lindey's, art show. She was raising money for her 6 month mission trip that she is about to go on. That was great to go there. Plus, I stayed at my friends' house Saturday night. It was just right...alone time and girl time.

I'm so glad that Brock is home now, though. I missed that boy.
