Long Day in the Airport

Yesterday, we spent the day flying from Mississippi to Texas. We had a 2 and 1/2 hour layover in Atlanta. Then, our plane was delayed. When we finally got on the runway, since the flight crew was the slowest I've ever seen, the plane pulled over to the side and turns the engines off. We finally heard that the weather was too bad in Texas. It was rainy in Mississippi and Atlanta. Now, apparently, it was bad weather in Houston as well. We sat in the small plane for another hour.

As we were in the air, the two people behind me talked the entire way. At one point, they brought up politics. Have you ever noticed that when you talk about politics all the problems of the world are brought up? To make matters worse, they didn't agree on anything. It was an argument the whole way. All I wanted to do was get off that plane! When we got there, we stood up to file out, and we stood, and we stood. Without telling us what was going on, they didn't open the door for about 20 minutes. Apparently, they couldn't get the door opened or something, because we had to walk down some stairs onto the ground and then back up another set of stairs to get back on the jet way. It was a mess and we were two hours late!

However, we had very good food. For lunch, we ate crabcakes at Phillips Seafood restaurant in the Atlanta airport. They were great! Then, we had my favorite mexican food at Pappasitos in Houston last night.
