Show in Jacksonville, FL

Did you know that Jacksonville is the largest city in the country. It's huge! As far as land mass, it's the largest. I think that the whole county is within the Jacksonville city limits.

The show was at a high school. This was tricky because we had to use their production in the auditorium. All of you that have ever gone to high school know that production is usually not their specialty. Who knows when the sound system was placed in the building? Also, the church who was bringing us in had to bring in a lot of stuff, so it was a tough set up. It would have been so much easier to have it at their church. However, if we did, this would not have happened...

Most of the crowd was entirely unchurched. They were so rowdy. I was standing up in the sound booth at the very back of the auditorium for most of the night. At one point, I came out and looked on the crowd. They weren't paying much attention and were disrespectful to Brock. At that moment, something happened in my heart. I know what the scripture talked about when Jesus looked at the crowd and had compassion on them. The Holy Spirit gave me an unnatural compassion. They were indeed like "sheep without a Shepherd." Of course lost people are going to act lost.

The crowd was like little ants moving around everywhere and talking with each other. When Brock began the invitation to become a follower of Jesus, all across the theater it began to still. It was like a wave of calmness swept from one side to the other. I've seen it happen several times before when Brock was speaking. A pastor at one of the previous churches we've been to termed it the "Holy Hush." It was amazing! You knew that it was an act of God to quiet this group!

Then, when it was time to respond, so many people stood up and said that they were giving their lives to Christ. It was worth it to work harder on the production. It was worth having a difficult show with a rough crowd. It was all worth it!
